Which stores still match competitors, which stopped, and how to get the best price every time.

AutoZone

AutoZone has a Low Price Guarantee — they work to provide the lowest prices on auto parts. Ask an associate to match a competitor's current advertised price on the same part. Competitor must have the item in stock.

Best Buy

Best Buy has one of the best price match policies in retail. They match most major competitors including Amazon, Costco, Walmart, and local stores — both at time of purchase and within 15 days after (60 days for Plus/Total members). Excluded during Black Friday week.

Dell

Dell has a strong price match guarantee. Before purchase, they'll match competing prices from major retailers and PC brands. After purchase, if the same item drops on Dell.com within 30 days, they refund the difference. Competitor price match for PCs is limited to 10% of Dell's price for purchases after Jan 23, 2026.

Dick's Sporting Goods

Dick's Sporting Goods will match the current price of an identical item from qualifying online and local retailers. Post-purchase: if an item you bought goes on sale at Dick's or a competitor within 14 days, Dick's will refund the difference. Competitors must have the exact item in stock. Clearance and closeout prices are excluded.

Home Depot

Home Depot has an excellent price match policy — they'll match any competitor's price on identical, in-stock items, including online retailers. This applies at time of purchase and up to 90 days after. Excludes bulk/wholesale prices, clearance, and auction sites.

Kohl's

Kohl's matches competitor prices at time of purchase — bring a printed ad or show the online price on your phone. Competitors must have both a physical store and a website (no wholesale clubs). Coupons can't be stacked on top of a price-matched product. Kohl's also matches its own Kohls.com prices in-store.

Lowe's

Lowe's matches competitor prices from local retailers and a list of online competitors. The item must be identical and in stock. They'll match the lower price at time of purchase. Does not match auction sites, wholesale club prices, or clearance items.

Micro Center

Micro Center matches prices from most major retailers and manufacturer websites at time of purchase. The competitor must list the exact same model number or UPC, have the item in stock, and sell/ship it directly (no third-party marketplace listings). Price match must be requested at time of purchase in-store.

Newegg

Newegg has a Price Match Guarantee on products displaying the badge: find the exact same item cheaper at a major qualifying retailer within 14 days of purchase and Newegg will match it. Subject to verification. Marketplace sellers, open-box items, and limited-quantity deals are excluded.

Nordstrom

Nordstrom price matches select competitors on identical items. They also offer a 10-day price adjustment — if the Nordstrom price drops within 10 days of your purchase, contact them for a refund of the difference.

Office Depot

Office Depot and OfficeMax match prices from Staples, Target, Walmart, Best Buy, and Amazon — both online and in-store. They also match their own officedepot.com prices. Show proof of the lower current price at checkout. Clearance, doorbuster, and event prices are excluded.

PetSmart

PetSmart's Price Match Guarantee: they'll match the current price of identical items from major competitors including Petco, Chewy, Amazon, Walmart, and Target. The item must be identical (same brand, size, and variety) and currently in stock at the competitor. Price adjustments can be requested within 14 days of purchase.

Sephora

Sephora has a limited, informal price match policy: they can honor a competitor's regular retail price within 7 days of purchase at select luxury beauty retailers (Bloomingdale's, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom). They will NOT match sale prices, discounts, or discount beauty retailers. This is case-by-case and not a guaranteed program.

Staples

Staples will match a lower price from a qualifying competitor or Staples.com in-store at time of purchase. They also match their own Staples.com prices within 14 days after purchase. Competitor prices must be for an identical, in-stock item. Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and event sales are excluded.

Adidas does not offer a price match guarantee against competitors or a post-purchase price adjustment policy.

Amazon does not price match any competitors and does not offer post-purchase price adjustments. Their prices change frequently via algorithmic pricing. Your best bet is to use a price tracker like CamelCamelCamel to monitor prices before buying.

Anthropologie

Anthropologie does not match competitor prices. They do offer a one-time price adjustment on full-price items if the price drops at Anthropologie within 14 days of your purchase — bring your original sales receipt. Sale and clearance prices are excluded.

Apple does not price match competitors. They do offer a 14-day price adjustment on their own products — if the Apple Store price drops within 14 days of purchase, you can contact Apple for a refund of the difference.

B&H Photo does not formally match competitor prices. They do honor their own price drops: if an item decreases in price on bhphotovideo.com within 30 days of your purchase, contact B&H to receive the difference.

Bath & Body Works does not match competitor prices. They offer a one-time price adjustment on in-store purchases if the item goes on sale at Bath & Body Works within 14 days — just bring your original receipt. Semi-Annual Sale and doorbuster prices are excluded.

Marshalls does not offer price adjustments or competitor price matching — they are an off-price retailer with already-discounted merchandise and constantly rotating inventory.

Menards does not match competitor prices (though competitors like Home Depot and Lowe's may factor in Menards' 11% rebate when matching). Menards does offer their own price adjustment: if an item you bought goes on a regular Menards sale within 14 days, bring your receipt for a Merchandise Credit Check for the difference. The famous 11% Rebate is a mail-in rebate, not an instant price match.
